We did not set this in ProposalController#create so it was empty
if we the event validation failed and we rendered :new.
It makes little sense to assign this instance variable anyway, we already have
@program.
Font Awesome icon elements are intended to be empty. Extending the icon
elements around adjacent text caused the text to be displayed in an
irregular font.
data-provide="markdown-editable" is intended for inline editing of page
content à la contenteditable. When this is applied to a textarea, the
editor is loaded only after the user clicks on the field. This behavior
breaks focus and is incompatible with keyboard navigation.
Admins may want to have discussions or any other general activity
that does not have any particular speaker. Thus, speaker validation
is removed.

Fold one-used event_status_icon and one-used booth_status_icon into
status_icon, used twice; since there is no conflict on the status-
driven description.
The single query was producing a tremendously large ActiveRecord allocation.
While this isn't nearly as cool as one query, it's still a significant
reduction in SQL trips, and now has the bonus of only loading what is
actually going to be displayed.

It is more relevant to check if the speakers have registered to the
